S&K Technologies Inc. (SKT), a family of companies owned by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana, has acquired Tucson, Arizona-based International Towers, Incorporated (ITI). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The purchase will grow SKT’s services and portfolio in cellular and broadband communications, tower and broadcast infrastructure, and security markets.
“Much like SKT, ITI has grown from humble beginnings with the hard work and dedication of their employees, into the well-respected employer and national service provider that they are today,” SKT CEO Chad Cottet said in a prepared statement.
S&K Technologies Inc. currently operates in aerospace maintenance, engineering services, logistics and aircraft sustainment; SKT additionally owns Montana-based Adelos Inc., focused on fiber-optic sensor systems.
SKT intends to keep all approximately 140 International Towers local employees and management on board, said Doug Gratzer, co-founder and president of the Tuscon-based International Towers, who inked a five-year employment contract with S&K, reported the Arizona Daily Star.
Following the purchase, ITI aims to accelerate its growth. ITI has already seen an upswing in demand for wireless communications technology, particularly as it relates to surveillance tower systems in Southern Arizona along the Mexican border. ITI works with several U.S. Customs and Border Protection programs that include the Integrated Fixed Tower Program and Remote Video Surveillance System Program.
As a licensed general contractor with more than 30 years of experience supporting government, commercial cellular, and broadcast customers, ITI counts additional offices in Asheville, North Carolina, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jupiter, Florida. ITI will operate as a subsidiary of SKT and join the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) development program.
