Snaking across 7,189 yards among wetlands, woodlands and Palouse grasses, the Circling Raven golf course traverses the rolling hills of the Northern Idaho panhandle.
Circling Raven consistently tops Golfweek’s list of the best golf courses you can play.
Most recently, Golfweek ranked Circling Raven Golf Club one of “America’s Best Casino Courses” in its regular list of the finest playing venues by category. Circling Raven moved up one spot from last year – from No. 22 to No. 21.
This comes on the tails of another significant announcement for the golf course of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.
The course will play host to the Circling Raven Championship, a Symetra “Road to the LPGA” Tour event that will debut at the CDA Casino Resort Hotel, August 24-30, 2020. To be played through 2022, the tournament will feature a full field of competitors battling for $200,000 in prize money next season.
“Many well-known LPGA players graduated to that elite tour through their Symetra Tour successes, and we can’t wait to see these incredibly talented women professional players shine during the Circling Raven Championship on our award-winning course,” said Laura Stensgar , who recently took the helm as CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.
An avid golfer, Stensgar helped to catapult the resort’s Circling Raven Golf Club to national distinction, and the No. 1 public course in Idaho rating. Stensgar previously held several leadership positions at the casino, including director of marketing.
Located approximately 55 minutes from Spokane International Airport (GEG) in the Idaho panhandle, Circling Raven measures 7,189 yards from the rear tees. With surrounding development and so much land dedicated to its layout, Circling Raven inspires players with its peaceful solitude, stunning scenery, and crafty design.
After the Gene Bates-designed course has put your skills to the test, grab a cocktail and meal at Twisted Earth, a restaurant with bar that touts a scenic patio.
Other Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort amenities and activities include the full-service Spa Ssakwa’q’n; a variety of hotel rooms and suites; bars, restaurants, lounges, and eateries; cultural immersion options, and more. The casino completed a multi-million-dollar renovation in Spring 2019.
